Our history and the origin of the birth of this watch
Our history and the origin of the birth of this watch.
Born in Marseille in the late 70s in the famous and oldest district of the city «Le Panier», I grew up in a maritime world surrounded by fishermen, sailors divers.
Very early on, this world fascinated me and I was attracted by these atypical people who shared their stories, their stories of unusual journeys and adventures. He gave off from these epics a scent of freedom and a form of courage to face the seas.
I quickly noticed that they all had in common on their wrist a watch well- built, robust, and worn out by their work. They had a magical thing, to be
able to distill the time that separated them from their return to their family.
I understood then, that not all watches could resist this universe hostile, only some of them could accompany them. To put a name on these last, they were first called “waterproof watches” and then “diving watches”.
This is how my two passions were born, the sea and the world of watches.
Today and since the beginning of my professional career, I work in the maritime world and for me, one does not go without the other. With the
creation of my brand SUPRA RUB, stage of a dream that took little by little life, I wanted to create a watch professional diving perpetuating and respecting the DNA of these pioneers.
His name, the AURORA, was the name of the fishing boat my grandfather had built. This name, derived from the dawn, is symbolic of
the beginning and hope. Everything remains possible when the day rises!
Other symbols are part of the identity of this watch, the stars on the dial represent a guide for travelers at night, the number 1 and the sign of
infinity engraved on their backs have a personal meaning that everyone can appropriate in writing his own story…
